Do you own stainless steel jewelry and are worried it will lose its beauty? Giving it optimal care so it lasts a long time is easier than it might seem.
Stainless steel jewelry is highly resistant to wear and corrosion, not to mention that it's made from a hypoallergenic and very attractive material. With so many advantages, it's no wonder it's a favorite choice for many.
Here are some tips and recommendations on what to do (and what not to do) to keep your jewelry in perfect condition.
Tips for caring for your stainless steel jewelry
- You can shower with them on without any problems, but make sure to dry them thoroughly afterward. It's also best to use a neutral shower gel without harsh chemicals.
- If you frequent the pool or live near the beach, it's best to take your jewelry off. Chlorine and salt can affect the color of your pieces. Also, in the case of rings , it's almost always advisable to remove them. Your fingers shrink in the water, so avoid the hassle of losing them.
- It is not recommended to apply products such as colognes, creams, lotions, etc. to them. They often contain substances that accelerate discoloration of the piece.
- Try to store each piece of jewelry in its own separate space so they don't scratch each other. A good jewelry organizer can be very helpful.

Although stainless steel jewelry withstands the test of time quite well, it never hurts to treat it with some care.
To clean them, you'll only need a microfiber cloth. It's a good idea to do this every time you take them off. Keep in mind that the accumulation of sweat, dust, and other residue will eventually darken the surface.
Do you want to clean them more thoroughly?
It's very simple. Mix a little warm water and pH-neutral liquid soap in a container and submerge the jewelry. Leave it for about 5 minutes and scrub it with a toothbrush to remove stubborn dirt.
The bristles should be soft so you don't damage the surface. If they're not very dirty, you can use a soft cloth instead of the brush. Dry the pieces with a microfiber cloth and you're done!
Try not to wear necklaces or earrings to the gym. This is not only to prevent the pieces from getting bumped and broken, but also for your own safety; it's advisable to go without accessories.
When you go to sleep, remove any earrings or necklaces that are too large. Besides being uncomfortable, you might move around in your sleep and unintentionally misshapen them.

We hope these tips are helpful and that you can wear them for many years.
